On page 4, Doc tries to reason with the attacking Martys, saying, "I assure you we can sort this matter out! Tangled as timelines can become, we simply need to start at one end and think our way through to the other! As Johannes Kepler was fond of saying--" Doc then gets clobbered by one of the Martys and doesn't finish his thought. Kepler (1571-1630) was a German astronomer and mathematician, known for his laws of planetary motion. Possibly, Doc was going to quote Kepler as saying, "Truth is the daughter of time, and I feel no shame in being her midwife."

On page 9, Marty reviews some of the events of Back to the Future.

On page 10, Doc asks a robot Marty, "...what in the name of Isaac Newton brought you to this reality..?" As we've seen in previous BTTF studies, Newton is one of Doc's favorite historical scientists.

Doc uses some kind of large electro-gun to take down the attacking Marty android. He later refers to it as a stun gun from the future. But why was Doc carrying such a large stun gun in the DeLorean in the first place?

On page 17, Doc tells Marty that Professor Irving played him (Marty) like a Stradivarius. Stradivarius is considered possibly the best maker of stringed instruments such as violins and cellos in the world.

When Needles' gang mistakes one of the faceless androids for Marty wearing a robot mask, one the gang asks him if he's going to a Star Trek convention. Star Trek, of course, is a science-fiction property created by Gene Roddenberry in 1966 which has appeared in television, film, books, comics, and other formats since.
